The Maine Book & Print Collective will be hosting two festivals this year, one in Waterville and another in Portland. Waterville’s event will be hosted at Head of Falls Park on Saturday and Sunday, August 15th and 16th; Portland will be hosted at Thompson’s Point on Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th. Both events will run from 10am to 3pm both days.
In addition to local authors, we welcome a variety of bookish vendors including other nonprofits, independent bookstores, publishers, magazines, zine-makers, printmakers, artists, food trucks, bakeries, coffee vendors, and more. We limit registration to authors and other vendors local to the midatlantic, with priority going to Maine-locals.
We also offer opportunities for authors who are unable to process card payments to process through Smitty’s Cellar for a percentage of those sales, rather than pay a vendor fee. At our Portland event, we will be able to offer discounted ‘author alley’ fees for authors who need a table provided but have their own inventory and payment processing capabilities.

Our events run through volunteers; our board members volunteer their time to organize events and our other programs throughout the year, as well as day-of volunteers for our annual festivals.
Volunteers will receive a free event staff tee, discounts from participating vendors, and free admission to the Portland event. You will have the option of ticketing (in Portland only), manning the Maine Book & Print Collective information tent, or booth babysitting.

Every year, we find the most success promoting our event through word-of-mouth and real people having a genuine, illuminating experience. We started partnering with local, some bookish and some local lifestyle, influencers with our ‘25 event.
Social media influencers will receive a free tee, discounts with participating vendors, free admission to Portland event (if attending as an influencer), and a social media spotlight on event accounts. Other opportunities may include a social media takeover of event accounts, readers’ choice awards for ‘26 attending authors, and more. We have no follower count requirements; you do not have to be a bookish influencer specifically.
